The Postdoctoral Research Associate is responsible for conducting research in Organic/Polymer Chemistry. Also responsible for writing, developing research proposals, and helping with graduate student mentoring and group organization. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Contributes to team effort by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds

  • May require working evening and/or weekend hours

Preferred Education:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Physics, or related field

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Research in Organic Chemistry - Conducting research in Organic/Polymer Chemistry. Participate in analyzing and disseminating data results as part of participation in group meetings, prepare manuscripts, periodic reports, scientific papers/presentations.
  • Presentations and Meetings - Make presentations of results at group meetings and other appropriate venues.  Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members, act as a mentor to students. 
  • Research Enhancement and Development - Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement.  Keep up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc. Participating in writing grant proposals. Maintain laboratory instrumentation and follow applicable safety standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
