The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience

Required Education:

  • Appropriate PhD

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in synthetic chemistry or medicinal chemistry

  • 1-2 years postdoctoral experience in multi-step organic synthesis

  • Experience with optimization and SAR studies of lead compounds

  • Lab management experience

  • Experience in writing manuscripts

  • Experience working with individuals and communities

  • Experience with manuscript composition

Job Responsibilities

  • Search prior arts data bases (Scifinder, Reaxys, Pubmed, Sciencedirect etc.) relevant to the assigned project to formulate a research plan

  • Identify and apply proper methodologies to carry out the synthesis of target molecules.

  • Trouble shooting and improve the synthesis in a timely manner.

  • Evaluate and interpret SAR data.

  • Write progress reports and technical documents.

  • Assists the PI to manage the lab routine research activities

  • Complies with all state and university policies

  • Demonstrates intermediate to expert skills with Microsoft office software, and is able to learn and use institutional software systems.

  • May carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization’s objectives, policies and applicable laws.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
