What we want
The Sarkar laboratory applies molecular biology, cellular biology, biological engineering, and bioinformatics approaches to understand the Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT)-mediated tumor progression and metastasis process. This Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to this goal by conducting research experiments, overseeing main lab operations, assisting with animal care, reagent preparation, and assisting in the training of students on lab techniques. Required Education:
Appropriate Doctoral degree
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education and Experience:
Doctoral Degree in Biological Science or related field
Prior experience working in the cancer field during his/her Ph.D.
Prior experience with cell culture, 3D culture, and animal models
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in Molecular biology, Cellular biology or similar area
Track record of productivity, as evidenced by first-authored publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Strong work ethic
Excellent organizational and critical thinking abilities
Responsibilities:
Research Experiments
Design and perform experiments and analyze data using molecular and cellular tools.
Lab maintenance
Maintain critical laboratory equipment.
Maintain lab inventory.
Oversee lab safety.
Documentation/Publishing
Maintain detailed records of data obtained in the laboratory.
Prepare reports and manuscripts.
Assist in proposal preparation.
Training
Training Undergraduate and Graduate students learn new techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
