PURPOSE

  • We are seeking a motivated postdoc to join our dedicated team at Hart Institution and the Civil Engineering Department at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi.

DESCRIPTION

  • Perform research projects experimentally and analytically: Design materials that effectively increase carbon sequestration in restored oyster reefs. Additionally, the research will encompass various restoration-related topics, such as oyster reef living shorelines for erosion reduction, developing materials suitable for rebuilding scrupled reefs, and 3D printing cementitious materials with low CO2 emissions.
  • Write manuscripts for publication.
  • Prepare grant proposals.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Doctoral degree in Civil, Ocean, Mechanical Engineering, or related.
  • Knowledge in engineering, marine science, habitat restoration, cement-based materials optimization, geopolymer materials, 3D materials application, analyzing CO2 capture and sequestration, and optimizing the testing and field application of regolith concrete, materials rheological evaluation or related fields.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. Fieldwork, laboratory experiments, statistical analysis, and scientific writing experience are essential.
