What We Want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for work on experiments in quantum optics. The selected candidate will work on laser science such as: high power excimer lasers with applications to nonlinear optics, SRS microscopy for biological applications, and use of quantum light sources in sensing and imaging. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also supervise, train, and mentor graduate students. What You Need to Know

Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Physics or related field

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of scientific programming language(s), computer simulation, quantum computing algorithms

  • Experience in Quantum informatics, Quantum heat engine, Quantum thermodynamics and Quantum mechanics as well as experience in writing scientific papers as demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals

  • PhD in Physics

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Responsible for work on experiments in quantum optics.  Works on laser science such as: high power excimer lasers with applications to nonlinear optics, SRS microscopy for biological applications, and use of quantum light sources in sensing and imaging. Supervises, trains, and mentors graduate students. 

  • Research: Conferences, Publications, etc.: Writes scientific papers, participate in conferences, prepares PowerPoint presentations/slides, makes calculations, and related analysis as instructed.

  • Assist Visitors: Assists in hosting Institute visitors, assist in making IQSE sponsored activities successful, and performs other duties as assigned.
