The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Required Education:

  • Appropriate doctoral degree

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education:

  • 1-3 years’ related professional experience
  • Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a related field. 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in polymers/biomaterials synthesis, their bioconjugation with suitable ligands fit for purpose and characterization. 
  • Experience in, tools such as electron microscopy, spectroscopy, and chromatography.
  • Research publications and presentations in the related area.

Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Polymers/biomaterials synthesis, bioconjugation and characterization
  • Formulation fit to purpose and characterization
  • Conduct cell culture, molecular biology and some pharmacokinetics work
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews and continue to update knowledge and develop skills.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
  • Generate and display the results and interpret their implications.
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Preparation of laboratory for experiments including preparation of solutions and cleaning work areas; this may require light to moderate lifting.
  • Communicate with PI, liaise with collaborators within as well as outside TAMU to ensure alignment of expectations within project objectives as well lead, influence, and enlist support to other lab members.
  • Actively participate as a member of a research team and attend and contribute to relevant meetings. Present research findings to colleagues and at conferences. Write protocols, progress reports and prepare results for publication and dissemination via presentations and the world wide web.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
