Job Summary

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform collaborative investigations related to the COVID-19. Responsibilities include conducting independent research on the SARS-CoV-2, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens. Research will emphasize the molecular, cell biological, live animal molecular imaging and immunological characterization of virulence determinants in respiratory pathogens and their interactions with the host in humans, mice and guinea pigs.


Required Education:

  • Ph.D. in an appropriate field.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD, D.V.M. and/or M.D. degree.
  • Record of productive experience in immunology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology of pathogens preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.


Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical laboratory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
     

Job Responsibilities
  • Individual will be primarily responsible for conducting independent research on SARS-CoV-2, mycobacterial and other respiratory pathogens and publication of results.
  • Design, develop, and conduct research experiments. Responsible for evaluation, selection and application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Collect, compile, organize and analyze data. Document, summarize, and interpret results. Maintain experimental records and documentation. 
  • Participate and assist with the preparation of manuscripts, grants, and publications of scientific data in peer-revised journals based on research.
  • Attend laboratory meetings and departmental seminars. Interface with collaborators to advance projects. Participate in projects involving lab personnel. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
