Position Highlights The Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering (SIE) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The Postdoctoral position in Software Engineering will focus on Microservices Architecture and Cloud-Native Systems, offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated researcher to contribute to cutting-edge studies in the field. The Successful candidate will engage in impactful research activities, developing innovative solutions and methodologies for the evolving landscape of microservices and cloud-native systems. This role involves conducting in-depth research, deriving valuable insights, and contributing to academic advancements in the realm of software engineering. Additionally, the position allows for active involvement in teaching-related activities, providing the opportunity to share knowledge and expertise with students.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Research Excellence: Conduct original research in the field of microservices architecture and cloud-native systems.
  • Develop and publish high-impact studies in reputable academic journals and conferences.
  • Innovative Methodologies: Propose and implement innovative methodologies and solutions to address challenges in microservices and cloud-native systems.
  • Grant Writing: Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for ongoing and future research endeavors. 
  • Collaboration and Networking: Participate in Academic conferences, workshops, and seminars to foster networking and collaboration opportunities. 
  • Teaching contributions: Engage in teaching-related activities if needed, including teaching courses or mentoring student in their academic and research pursuits. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong research background with a focus on microservices architecture and cloud-native systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in publishing research papers in reputable conferences and journals.
  • Excellent programming skills and proficiency in relevant technologies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong research profile with Citations, active contribution, and publishing.
  • Proven leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field. The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microservice Composition and Clustering Expertise.
  • Experience in Microservice System Development.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students.
  • Industrial Experience.
