The successful candidate will have a background in radioanalytical chemistry. The candidate should be experienced in handling radioactivity or possess a strong desire to learn the skill. The candidate will be expected to develop protocols for the synthesis and characterization of metal complexes by various analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC, and TLC. Candidates will also be expected to develop radiolabelling protocols for various radionuclides and to perform radiochemical separations.

This position will involve the handling of radioisotopes that are beta, alpha, gamma, and/or PET emitters and may involve handling of hazardous chemicals so attention to details is a must. This position may also involve the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques to aid in developing protocols and separations. This position has a high level of interaction with an international and multicultural scientific community.

The main program focus is to produce and distribute radioisotopes for nuclear medicine research and clinical practice and to develop radioisotopes for new applications in medicine and science. The groups major facilities include the Brookhaven Linac Isotope Producer (BLIP), and the fully equipped hot laboratory with hot cells, radiochemistry research laboratories, and analytical equipment. The BLIP utilizes high intensity proton beams up to 200 MeV.
