Job Description

An immediate opening for a postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

The successful candidate will be a member of a highly interdisciplinary lab, including biologists, engineers, and imaging scientists working on developing and implementing advanced quantitative imaging techniques in co-clinical imaging research. The successful candidate will be engaged in quantitative image processing and modeling (statistical, mathematical) of multi-modality biomedical image data (e.g. PET, MRI) to predict response to therapy in both preclinical and clinical studies.

The position is initially available for up to two years, but can be renewed based on performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in medical physics, applied mathematics, computer science, biomedical engineering, or related fields with no more than five years of previous postdoctoral research experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following fields: machine learning, image segmentation, image co-registration, multivariate statistical modeling, optimization, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics or related fields.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical imaging.
  • Evidence of research activity resulting in publications and presentations is highly desirable.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.  The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.​

Salary Range

Base pay commensurate with experience.
