Description: The Department of Psychology at Princeton University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin in Summer or Fall of 2024. We are seeking a motivated and productive researcher with a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field, to be completed by the position's start date. The associate will work with Dr. Rebecca Carey on research broadly examining inequality, social interactions, and relationships. They will collaborate on current, existing research projects, including: (1) a year-long longitudinal assessment of close relationship formation and change among first-generation, low-income college students; (2) a survey comparison of social and academic capital of first-generation, low-income college students and their continuing-generation, high-income peers; (3) a longitudinal assessment of adverse experiences, close relationships, and health and well-being among a socioeconomically diverse community sample. In addition, the associate will have the opportunity to develop and lead novel projects under the core topics of the Adversity and Relationships in Context Lab. Responsibilities will include establishing and managing collaborative, multisite research projects; conducting advanced statistical analysis on complex data sets; disseminating research through presentations and journal publications; and mentoring junior members of the labs. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in research on inequality, evidence of an existing research program in social psychology or a related area, strong skills in designing and executing research studies, superb analytic skills, and excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. The position is offered for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. Salary will be in accordance with NIH guidelines. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University.
