Description: Postdoctoral position in high energy density (HED) plasma physics The Department of Astrophysical Sciences of Princeton University invites applications for a postdoctoral or more senior position in high energy density (HED) plasma physics focusing on study of magnetic reconnection. The successful candidates will perform a range of experiments on small- and large-scale laser facilities, lead theoretical and computational studies for data analyses, and understand the physics significances by connecting to space and astrophysical scenarios. Hands-on experimental experiences are preferred but not required. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and a strong background in experimental plasma physics. Experience in the areas of HED plasma physics and laboratory astrophysics, as well as capability to develop novel diagnostic and data analysis tools to facilitate the research is desired.
