Postdoctoral Research Associate Position 

RAPID-IL  (Resources And Programs for Increasing Diversity in Health Professions in Illinois), a project of the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) under the direction of David DuBois, Associate Dean for Research, and Nadine Peacock, Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity and Belonging, invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate. Over the next two years, RAPID-IL will be engaged in the following activities:

  • Establish a partnership of health career pathway organizations, the aim of which will be to facilitate more collective and coordinated action on behalf of increasing representation of historically marginalized racial and ethnic groups in health professions within Illinois;
  • Establish and provide support for a youth advisory council to help guide and inform the activities of the partnership;
  • Maintain and promote utilization of the RAPID-IL inventory of health career pathway programs;
  • Develop and pilot approaches to facilitating coordination among programs focused on different age groups, health professions, and areas of support for purposes of reducing “leakiness” in the health professions pipeline;
  • Design and implement a resource to enhance dissemination of promising practices within health career pathway programs and initiatives; and
  • Design, build, and support utilization of a shared cloud-based platform for collection of longitudinal, student-level information and data that is responsive to the research, evaluation, and case management needs of those working within the health career pathway ecosystem.

The person hired will be responsible for leading and coordinating the day-to-day work of the project in support of accomplishing the above goals. Applicants should have experience with programmatic initiatives to promote health equity, collaboration with community-based organizations, project management, and applied research and evaluation.
