The University of Illinois at Chicago has immediate openings for postdoctoral research associates to work on high-pressure experiments directed at discovery, characterization, and synthesis of new materials, including new superconductors; magnetic, electronic, and topological materials; and energetic materials with a focus on new high-energy density compounds.  The projects will involve experiments at synchrotron facilities at Argonne National Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and other laboratories.  They will also involve close collaboration with theoretical groups conducting modeling and simulation. 



The candidates will be responsible for designing and executing experiments in collaboration with other researchers, including students



The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, geoscience, or a related area by the time of the appointment.  To apply, submit a CV, statement of research interest, and the names and email addresses of at least 3 references.
