About the Opportunity:

Two-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Physics..

Responsibilities:

Applications are invited for a two-year postdoc position for astrophysics projects, SuperCDMS, GAPS, and/or GRAMS. SuperCDMS (Cryogenic Dark Matter Search) is a direct dark matter search experiment located at SNOLAB in Canada. The early operation at the Cryogenic Underground TEst (CUTE) facility in SNOLAB is already started. GAPS is a balloon-based indirect dark matter search with antinuclei. The first GAPS (General Antiparticle Spectrometer) science flight from the antarctic is scheduled in 2022/2023. GRAMS (Gamma-Ray and AntiMatter Survey) is a proposed balloon/satellite mission for targeting MeV gamma-ray observations and antimatter-based indirect dark matter searches. We are currently building a prototype detector, MinGRAMS, at Northeastern University.

Qualifications:

We seek candidates with research experience in instrumentation development with noble element and semiconductor detectors and data analysis for astrophysics projects. The successful candidate will lead  the  data  analysis  for  SuperCDMS  and  GAPS  while  engaging  in   the   LArTPC detector development for GRAMS.

Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or a related field. At least two years of lab experience with noble element and/or semiconductor detector development is preferred for this position. Must be a team player and have strong  communication  skills  with abilities to complete tasks.
