Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Neuroimaging

The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with Prof. Javier Rasero at the InDaNeurOmics research unit. The unit's mission is to investigate individual differences in clinical and preclinical populations by integrating neuroimaging and other omics data.

The primary focus of this research position is to advance the understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder by evaluating new biomarkers using neuroimaging data. Responsibilities will include preprocessing neuroimaging data, building statistical and predictive models for the diagnosis of Autism, and disseminating research through publications. This position offers a unique multidisciplinary environment, allowing candidates to expand their professional network through collaborations with various departments and institutes across UVA, such as Psychology and the Brain Institute.

Candidates must possess a terminal degree in computer science, neuroscience, psychology, engineering, physics, mathematics, or related discipline by the start date of the position.

Preference will be given to applicants that possess the following:

  • Established experience in analyzing neuroimaging data (fMRI and/or diffusion MRI)

  • and/or machine/deep learning.

  • Experience with statistical/scientific programming languages (expertise in Python,

  • Matlab, and/or R preferred).

  • Topical expertise in statistical and computational approaches (e.g., regression,

  • clustering, signal processing).

  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects as evidenced by first-author publications.

This is a one-year appointment, renewable for an additional year contingent upon funding and satisfactory performance.
