Position Highlights | The Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona welcomes applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position supported in part by a grant from the Department of Energy entitled "Quasi-Trefftz methods for problems governed by vector-valued Partial Differential equation". Qualifications: candidates must have a PhD with expertise in numerical analysis, and ideally in Discontinuous Galerkin methods. Expertise in high-performance computing is not required, but would be useful. In collaboration with Prof. Imbert-Gerard, research topics will focus on the development and implementation of advanced methods, more specifically the so-called quasi-Trefftz methods, for problems governed by variable-coefficients Maxwell's equations in the frequency domain. The teaching commitment is one course per year. Pending funding approval this is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance (non-tenure eligible) with an appointment beginning in Fall 2024. Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
