Position Highlights

The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in analysis of existing and ongoing datasets collected in the Neuroscience of Emotion and Thought Lab, including behavioral, natural language, smartphone and functional MRI data acquired from individuals across the adult lifespan. The postdoctoral fellow will also collaborate on ongoing studies and have opportunities to design new research studies as well. As part of the position, the postdoc will gain mentorship and professional development experience working with graduate and undergraduate students, writing manuscripts, and contributing to the preparation of grant applications. Strong skills in statistics, fMRI data analysis and data visualization. Computational skills in natural language processing, dynamic systems modelling, machine learning, and data science of “big data” are also strengths for the datasets with which the postdoctoral fellow will be working. Basic knowledge in, or willingness to learn about, the psychology of aging, autobiographical thought, creativity and mind-wandering would also be ideal.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analysis and data management of functional neuroimaging data, including machine learning and dynamic statistical approaches.
  • Analysis of mobile smartphone data and natural language data from local and remote participant cohorts.
  • Dissemination of findings through presentations and publications
  • Collaboration with other researchers (including faculty, postdocs, graduate students and undergraduates) on ongoing projects.
  • Assistance with grant applications for new federal, state or private grants.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. The selected candidate must have a conferred PhD upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Special training in statistics or math.
