Position Summary
This position is located in Kannapolis, NC (appx 2 hours from main campus, near Charlotte, NC). 
The Hursting Lab is located at the Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) on the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, North Carolina. We are seeking an energetic and talented postdoctoral researcher to study the metabolic mechanisms underlying the the effects of nutrition on breast and pancreatic cancer with emphasis on the role of mitochondrial perturbations in the obesity-cancer link.
As part of the NRI, the successful postdoctoral researcher will have access to numerous resources available through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health and through the Departments of Nutrition. Furthermore, the NCRC state of the art research facilities allow for collaborations with faculty from schools across North Carolina studying a range of topics including genetics, epigenetics, cancer biology, nutritional biochemistry and nutrigenomics. 
Educational Requirements
PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, or other relevant discipline 
Qualifications and Experience
Must demonstrate strong communication and data analysis skills; experience with cell culture, animal and tissue handling and wet lab research; the ability to work independently or collaboratively. 
Applicants with experience in such techniques as Seahorse metaboiic flux analysis, flow cytometry, mitochodrial mutation analysis, and molecular biology approaches such as CRISPR/Cas9 preferred.
