Description: The Princeton University High Energy Experiment group has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral or more senior research associates to work on the CMS experiment. Opportunities available to the successful candidate include development of tracking algorithms with an emphasis on applying machine learning methods, Outer Tracker upgrade and operations, and additional projects within the Princeton group. Physics analysis opportunities can be pursued in the areas of precision measurements of Higgs boson properties, searches for new particles, and/or additional topics of mutual interest to the candidate and the Princeton group. This position can be based at CERN or Princeton. Applicants must have a Ph.D., preferably in experimental particle physics, and a record that demonstrates the ability to work independently in a research environment and leadership potential. The Term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments.
