Job Description

Position Summary

The Division of General Medical Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the area of geospatial modeling and social/neighborhood impacts on disparities of cancer related health behaviors and outcomes. The successful candidate will work primarily with Dr. Min Lian and join a research team with multidisciplinary expertise, including cancer epidemiology, Geographic Information Systems, spatial epidemiology, health service research, and health disparity research. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to collaborate on secondary data analysis, interdisciplinary research, and to gain experience in grant writing. The one-year position will be renewable for another year, depending on the performance in the first year.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (MD, Ph.D., or equivalent).
  • Excellent skills in data statistical analysis, manuscript writing, and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred training or research experience includes, but not limited to, epidemiology, GIS, health service, social and behavioral science.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
