What you need to know

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D in evolutionary biology, animal behavior, mathematical biology, or similar field
  • Proficiency working with at least one of the following computer languages: R, Wolfram Mathematica, MatLAB, C++

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong background in evolutionary theory and animal behavior
  • Experience building mathematical models (experience with individual based simulations strongly preferred)
  • Experience using high performance computing
  • Dual experience with fieldwork and mathematical modeling strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing research experiments and analyzing results
  • Writing of manuscripts, maintaining appropriate logbooks, presenting findings, and contributing to grant proposals
  • General laboratory duties such as purchasing supplies, equipment maintenance, and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Collaborating in the mentorship and training of graduate and undergraduate students
  • Performs other duties as assigned
