Position Summary

The Energy Storage and Conversion Lab at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate position. This position is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension depending on the candidate's performance and the availability of funding. This position will involve working on the development of advanced rechargeable lithium batteries with a focus on achieving high energy density and high power density. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting experiments on rechargeable electrochemical energy storage systems to achieve targeted system performance metrics such as energy density, power density, and cycle life.
  • Characterizing materials to understand their physical and electrochemical properties.
  • Maintaining effective communication with collaborators and program managers.
  • Sharing research findings through journal publications, conferences, and presentations.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to undergraduate and graduate researchers and fostering collaboration among team members.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
