Position Highlights

The laboratory of Dr. Hee-Jeong Kim at The University of Arizona College of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate.

The selected candidate will join the Multi-scale Structural Materials and Design Laboratory at the University of Arizona, working under the supervision of Professor Hee-Jeong Kim. The position involves a 9-month appointment, with the possibility of a contract extension after this period. The selected candidate is expected to work on projects about design and development of sustainable construction materials, utilization of digital fabrication, including additive manufacturing.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Scholar will have the following duties:

  • Conduct high-quality research on design and development of new lo2 co2 construction materials, such as new composites and innovative materials based on coupled advanced multi-scale computational modeling and experimental characterization.
  • Conduct high quality research on utilization of digital fabrication, including additive manufacturing in the development of new construction materials and of novel nondestructive evaluation methods for material characterization and health monitoring.
  • Assist Dr. Kim with supervising and mentoring PhD students.
  • Collaborate in the development of proposals and projects. 
  • Deliver lectures on construction materials, if needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or other related field.
  • Selected candidate must have Ph.D. conferred upon hire.
