Postdoctoral Research Associate - Biomedical Engineering

The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department seeks to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future leaders and innovators in biomedical engineering.

Carnegie Mellon University is hiring multiple Neuroengineering Postdoctoral Associates to join the biomedical engineering department.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by carrying out advanced independent and directed research under the supervision of Professor Bin He, and other such tasks as assigned to you.   

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • EEG-based Brain Computer Interface (BCI). Developing BCI decoding algorithms and BCI strategies that integrate ML with human learning, and evaluation in human subjects. Focus is on motor imagery paradigms.

  • EEG/MEG Source Imaging and Localization. Developing source imaging algorithms to localize and image locations, extents, and temporal dynamics of brain activation and image functional connectivity and networks from scalp recorded EEG/MEG. The project mainly involves algorithm development and data analysis.

  • Transcranial Focused Ultrasound (tFUS) Neuromodulation. Developing tFUS techniques (hardware or software) and investigating the mechanisms of tFUS neuromodulation in in vivo rodents, and human applications.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, neuroscience, or a related field
