Position Summary
Postdoctoral position available immediately for a highly-motivated researcher to participate in projects focusing on understanding how the cell utilizes ribosomes, and associated factors, to maintain genetic fidelity during problematic translation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize biochemical and molecular biology techniques to probe the mechanisms by which factors interact with the ribosome and how these interactions change under stress conditions.
- Prepare RNA libraries from various ribosome and associated factor mutants in yeast for RNA-seq and ribosome profiling.
- Prepare samples for mass spectrometry and cryo-EM analysis.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.
