The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for performing astrophysical research approved by the the hiring Primary Investigator. This position will disseminate results through peer-review publications, reports, and conference presentations. In addition, they will mentor graduate and/or undergraduate students in student-led research projects. What You Need to Know

Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.

Work Location: This is an in-person position located in College Station, Texas, USA.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Appropriate PhD. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or related field

  • Experience in at least one of the following: Optical/infrared imaging and spectroscopy, space-based integral field spectroscopy, gravitational lens modeling, or JWST data reduction

  • Knowledge or interest in galaxy formation and evolution, galactic feedback or outflows, and/or galactic kinematics

Responsibilities:

  • Research on Approved Topics: Performs astrophysical research on topics approved by the hiring PI. Disseminates results through peer-reviewed publications, reports, and conference presentations.

  • Research on Independently Selected Topics: Conducts independent astrophysical research on topics of personal preference. Disseminates results through peer-reviewed publications, reports, and conference presentations.

  • Mentoring: Engages in mentorship with graduate and/or undergraduate students in student-led research projects and performs other duties as assigned.
