Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate Phd

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with faculty, postdocs, and students
  • Observational and/or computational skills necessary to perform original research in astronomy
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Physics or Astronomy
  • Research experience in astronomy or astrophysics; strong research publication record

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Observational astronomy or data analysis skill

Responsibilities:

  • Perform research under guidance of astronomy faculty members; publish research papers on topics in observational or computational astronomy and astrophysics; publicize results in professional presentations
  • Help organize astronomy seminars and workshops at Mitchell Institute
  • Advise students on research projects
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
