Required Education and Experience:
- Appropriate Phd
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work with faculty, postdocs, and students
- Observational and/or computational skills necessary to perform original research in astronomy
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Education and Experience:
- PhD in Physics or Astronomy
- Research experience in astronomy or astrophysics; strong research publication record
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Observational astronomy or data analysis skill
Responsibilities:
- Perform research under guidance of astronomy faculty members; publish research papers on topics in observational or computational astronomy and astrophysics; publicize results in professional presentations
- Help organize astronomy seminars and workshops at Mitchell Institute
- Advise students on research projects
- Perform other duties, as assigned
