Job Description

Position Summary

A postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Keith Hengen, and if applicable, in collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Eva Dyer. The Hengen Lab is broadly interested in the fundamental principles of reliable computation in the intact brain. Through this lens, the Hengen Lab studies sleep, neurodegenerative disease, and complex behavior. The Hengen Lab takes a multidisciplinary approach to addressing scientific questions: the lab is enriched in high-density multi-site in vivo single unit electrophysiology in freely behaving animals, cellular neuroscience (patch clamp), and computational/theoretical neuroscience. A close collaboration with the Dyer Lab focuses on developing new mathematical approaches and machine learning tools to reveal structure in large and complex datasets.

Applicants with expertise in any of these areas are encouraged to apply. There will be an opportunity to train in complementary methods. The Hengen Lab is located on the Danforth Campus of Washington University in Saint Louis.
