What we want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will develop a digital twin of the campus, working on the digital twin system's overall architecture, ensuring scalability and robustness and developing & optimizing algorithms for data processing and analytics, with a focus on ensuring the system's reliability, performance, and adherence to quality standards. The selected candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Our ideal candidate may have proven expertise in one or both of the following areas: 1) Proficiency in user interface and user experience design, And/or 2) Experience in developing and optimizing algorithms for data processing and analytics. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also communicate with various communities on campus to gather feedback and promote the campus digital twin.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or related discipline required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in implementation of platforms involving big-data, visualization, deep learning, and statistics.

  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.

  • Strong programming knowledge in web and/or mobile development.

  • Working knowledge with parallel and distributed computing software and hardware architectures.

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publication Record: A record of published research in peer-reviewed journals related to digital twin could indicate a strong research background.

  • Industry Experience: Previous involvement in collaborative projects in digital twin would demonstrate practical experience in the field.

  • More than two years of experience in digital twin technology or 3D modeling, with proven records in programming and platform development.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration- Work with team of interdisciplinary researchers to capture, understand, integrate, and implement their requirements in developed algorithms for campus digital twin model, as well as contribute to outreach, publications, and grant writing.

  • Research- Conduct digital twin research with a strong emphasis on algorithm development and validation.

  • Optimization- Optimize algorithm prototypes to scalable, parallelized, and robust implementations.
