Position Summary:

The College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to support grant development and application activities connected to an ongoing internal grant-funded pilot research project focused on heritage buildings, cultural memory, and digital technologies in Francephone, West Africa (specifically Benin, Togo, and South Nigeria.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of grant writing process through having particiapated or undertaken prior grant applications; ability to originate grants budgets, conduct grant research and cordinate creation of necessary grant documentation. Any terminal degree and/or field experience is acceptable. For candidates interested in participating in conferences, degrees in History, Architecture, Urbanisim, and related fields would be an added advantage.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

(25%) Work with co-PIs to identify other potential external grant funders and develop necessary contacts to initiate introductions and relationship building. Grant contacts will be only towards specific targeted grants.

(25%) Work with co-PIs to leverage pilot data to create grant proposals. Review and organize necessary research data and or literature from the PI’s research towards grant proposals. Candidate is not expected to conduct or participate in the core research project.

(25%) Prepare grant application documentation packages and make ready for submission.

(15%) Participate in bi-weekly planning meetings with the CO-PI’s and the rest of the research team.  

(10%) Participate in preparing and delivering a conference presentation in Fall 2024. This will depend on candidates interest and/or area of expertise.
