Chapel Hill is located near the prestigious Research Triangle Park of North Carolina and faculty members have a strong history of collaboration with external partners in the area.
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy is a nationally recognized leader in pharmacy practice, education, and research committed to developing leaders who make a positive difference on human health worldwide. The School has built a reputation for its continued pursuit of excellence, rigorous education and training Centers, cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, progressive pharmacy practices, efficient business operations, and its outstanding faculty, staff, and students . The School was named for the second time the number one School of Pharmacy in the U.S. by the U.S. News and World Report. The School has experienced unprecedented growth and success and continues to strategically position itself for sustained impact, as articulated in the School’s Strategic Plan 2012–2017 (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/about/ospa/).
The Center for Innovative Pharmacy Education and Research (CIPhER). CIPhER aims to help faculty and others to more effectively: teach, assess and promote student learning; and produce peer-reviewed publications and compete for grants. CIPhER sponsors certificate offerings, contributes to continuing professional education, offers onsite and online training workshops and seminars, and coordinates relevant, mutually beneficial efforts with entities such as other UNC health science schools, the UNC School of Education, ACCP, AACP, and the PharmAlliance.
Position Summary
CIPhER Postdoctoral Fellowships in Pharmacy Education Innovation and Research. These one-year post-doctoral fellowships provide exposure and mentored experience across the full range of educational research activities, including study design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. Although the program will be tailored to each Fellow’s unique skills and experiences, they will gain broad experience in educational research and assessment supporting the core mission of CIPhER. Health professions schools are uniquely positioned to examine critical educational research questions that are not only of importance to themselves, but of increasing interest and significance to larger audiences across higher education. CIPhER is committed to producing rigorous and systematic educational research that will provide insight necessary to advance strategic initiatives, improve student outcomes, enhance workforce development, and position the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as a model of educational innovation and excellence, nationally and globally.
