Description

Tulane University’s Department of Economics, Education Research Alliance for New Orleans, and National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice (REACH) invite applications for a postdoctoral Research Fellow in Economics of Education to begin a two-year appointment in fall 2022. In partnership with Tulane’s Murphy Institute of Political Economy, we invite applications from candidates who will receive a Ph.D. in economics by that time.

In addition to conducting and publishing original research about local and national education policy using our extensive data systems, the Fellow will teach one course at the undergraduate economics level annually and participate in seminars and other activities in the Economics Department and Murphy Institute. 

One-third of the Fellow’s time will focus on studies co-authored with team members involving the above topics; one-third is available for research of the candidate’s choosing. The remaining third will involve teaching or research-related activities as requested.

First interviews will occur in early January and applications will be accepted now through February 28, 2022. 


Qualifications

Ph.D. in Economics or Public Policy (by fall, 2022) and demonstrated interest in policies related to K-12 education policy.
