Job Title:
Postdoctoral Fellow Women's Behavioral Health


Department:
Medicine | Psychiatry

The fellowship will prepare trainees to provide a broad range of behavioral health services in an outpatient behavioral health setting, with a focus on women's behavioral health. We provide patients with state-of-the-art care for mood and anxiety disorders, sexual health, substance use disorders and stress, with a special emphasis on the peripartum, gynecologic and breast cancers, menopause, and the menstrual cycle. In addition to providing clinical services, fellows participate in clinical supervision, didactics, and research activites as agreed upon with the mentor(s). Throughout the training year, fellows work closely with interdisciplinary team members (e.g., psychiatry, psychology, social work). Fellows will also have the opportunity to work closely with other WBH trainees and other psychology fellows in the department.

Responsibilities

 

Provision of clinical services (80%)

  • Conducting behavioral health diagnostic intake assessments, individual psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy within the Women's Behavioral Health (WBH) team.
  • Conducting behavioral health diagnostic intake assessments, individual psychotherapy, and/or group psychotherapy as indicated within a secondary rotation (one day/week). Examples of possible secondary rotations (dependent on supervisor availability):
    • Depression Recovery Center
    • Anxiety Disorders Clinic
    • Suicide Prevention and Trauma
    • Sleep Medicine
    • Pain Medicine
  • Clinical administrative and supervision will be incorporated into rotation days.

 

Didactics/Professional Development/Research (20%)

  • The fellow will be expected to participate in fellowship didactics, departmental Grand Rounds, and other departmental educational opportunities as agreed upon with the mentor(s).
  • The fellow will have the opportunity to have a mentored research experience. This could take the place of a secondary rotation (pending funding).
  • The fellow will be expected to participated in professional development activities as agreed upon with the mentor(s).
