Position Description | The Digital, Data, and Design (D^3) Institute at Harvard is accepting applications for multiple postdoctoral fellows for academic year 2023-2024 to work on research activities at our research labs. D^3 launched in the summer of 2022 with 12 labs working on research at the intersection of academia and practice. For more information on D^3, please visit https://d3.harvard.edu . The postdoctoral fellows will work under the direct supervision of faculty Principal Investigators and the Senior Associate Director, Lab Operations. They will work closely with the lab manager and research associate(s) at each lab. D^3 is looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds and/or new perspectives. There are no teaching requirements for these open positions. The Crypto, Fintech, and Web3 Lab, led by Shai Bernstein, Marco Di Maggio, Scott Kominers, and David Parkes, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The mission of the Crypto, Fintech, and Web3 Lab is to explore token systems, governance models, incentives, and evaluate how Web3 is impacting finance, entrepreneurship, and the broader economy. The goal of the Lab’s research is to contribute to fundamental knowledge, shape the way these technologies are applied towards innovation, efficiency, and inclusion, inform companies, and shape the thinking of regulators. An ideal candidate will be interested in crypto, fintech, and/or Web3 and comfortable working directly with large data. A typical empirical project involves refining a research question, designing an experiment or survey, analyzing historical and experimental data, and writing targeted at peer reviewed social science journals. Candidates may be asked to undergo an assessment as part of the interview process. Additional Information: This is a term position through June 30, 2024, with the strong possibility of renewal based on funding and performance. Relocation funding not provided.
