Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by advancing the research on the intersection of business technologies and statistical machine learning, with a special focus on crowdsourcing and deep generative modeling. This position is a one year appointment with possibility of extension for an additional year based on funding availability. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Business Technologies faculty members within the Tepper School of Business.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct collaborative research with the PI and researchers from Sony to advance the research on deep generative modeling with discrete structured latent spaces

  • Apply the resulting models and algorithms to the crowdsourcing task

  • Deliver quarterly reports and prepare manuscripts for journal and conference submissions

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Management Science, Operations Research, or related field required

  • 1-2 years of experience on deep generative modeling such as variational autoencoder (VAE) preferred

Requirements:
