Posting Summary

Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in experiments, maintains study documents and submits proposals for grant funding as well as assisting with all functions of maintaining a research laboratory.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including human subject testing.
  • Performs transcranial Doppler and ultrasound imaging of brain blood vessels during human subject testing.
  • Records and analyzes data for studies.
  • Assists Principal Investigator and or other research staff in data collections and processing.
  • Performs set-up and safety checks of equipment prior to any testing and consenting subjects upon arrival.
  • Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
  • Maintains all study documents including binders, informed consents, SOPS and data protocol sheets in accordance with IRB regulations.
  • Assists the PI and or study coordinator with IRB submissions, amendments and continuing reviews.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related discipline or an M.D with research experience and interest in human subject research and biochemical laboratory techniques.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to work independently.
