General Notes

This is a temporary training position that may be eligible for renewal on a semi-annual basis up to an additional 1 year, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding. 

Purpose

The Postdoctoral Fellow position will carry out work proposed in a DOE-funded project.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrochemistry experiments, independently

• Performs data analyses and modeling

• Publishes research in peer-reviewed journals and assists in reporting

• Mentors graduate students

• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in energy-related engineering fields, including Materials Science and Engineering received within the past 3 years. Background in reactive transport experimentation is ideal, and experience in electrochemistry is desirable. Experience in microscopy (optical, electron) and image processing. Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Ability to conduct independent materials characterization and reaction measurements, including data analyses.

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
