Position Summary
The IU School of Medicine has an exciting Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity in the laboratory led by Drs. Magdalena Czader and Chunhai Charlie Hao in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. Drs. Czader and Hao collaborate in targeted protein degradation (TPD) for discovery of small-molecule glues as the new anticancer drugs for treatment of leukemia. The team has developed the first small-molecule degraders of SUMO1 protein with the current efforts focusing on the development of SUMO1 degraders as the first-in-class anticancer drugs for treatment of patients diagnosed with cancers including leukemia. The team has developed TPD platform for discovery of small-molecule degraders of other oncoproteins.
This recruit will join the team in development of small molecule degraders as the first-in-class anticancer drugs for treatment of leukemia and other cancers. Experimental approaches being used in the lab include culture, flow cytometry, protein western blots, immunoprecipitation, genomic CRISPR/Cas9, MS/MS proteomic, protein complex structure technologies such as NMR and CRYO-EM and medicinal chemistry in computer-aided and AI-powered drug design and synthesis.
