Description of Work Unit	The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences is focused on education, research, and outreach to solve the world’s most pressing food production issues and crucial matters about Earth, its ecosystems, and their services. Position Summary	Postdoc – Genomics/Informatics The Crop Adaptation Lab in the Soil & Crop Sciences Department at Colorado State University is seeking a postdoc with the primary responsibility of conducting research on genomics/informatics in sorghum. The postdoc will be responsible for exploring new ways to identify genetic loci underpinning drought resilience and striga tolerance in Sorghum leveraging genetic resources co-developed at CERAAS in Senegal and at Colorado State University. With a goal of contributing to improved food security through advanced trait bioinformatics, this postdoc will synthesize information from environmental clines with traditional genotype-phenotype associations and/or using techniques including, but not limited to, eGWAS and imputation-based approaches. Through collaboration with CERASS in Senegal and Penn State University, this postdoc position is expected to publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals, present at scientific conferences, and serve as a key project collaborator with CIMMYT, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Penn State University.
Required Job Qualifications	Ph.D. in Plant Bioinformatics, Genetics, Genomics, or related field (by start of appointment) Strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
Preferred Job Qualifications	Demonstrated expertise in quantitative trait genomics, bioinformatics, or crop genetics Demonstrated written and oral communications skills Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics and/or genomic analyses Demonstrated interest in applying science to global challenges in crop improvement
