Postdoctoral Fellow/Genetics, Genomics and Informatics - 19000000BB

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kevin Freeman in the Department of Genetics, Genomics and Informatics, University of Tennessee Health Science Center.  The focus of the Freeman lab is to develop more accurate preclinical models of neuroblastoma to better understand the genesis of the disease and to help identify novel therapies.   We utilize an innovative system for transforming primary neural crest stem cells into neuroblastoma using genome editing techniques.  This approach forms the basis for genetic and synthetic lethality screens to identify novel oncogenic drivers and new therapies.   This position will support experimental modeling of cancer in cellular, engineered and xenograft models.  The candidate will gain experience in interdisciplinary strategies and cutting-edge technologies to interrogate the underlying genetic causes of cancer.

The preferred candidate will have expertise in standard biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology techniques, mammalian tissue culture, mouse modeling and cancer biology.
