Primary purpose of this position is to perform research in Phase Transformations and Mechanical Properties of materials. The successful candidate for this position will develop a continuum model of solid materials fracturing, conduct computer simulations of mechanical behavior of materials in conditions of cyclic loading, analyze mechanical properties of materials, and visualize the material’s structure.

This position is in Dr. A. Umantsev’s research group in the Department of Chemistry and Physics at Fayetteville State University. The group is a part of the Center for Hierarchical Materials Design (CHiMaD) at Northwestern University in Chicago, which is funded through the Grant from National Institute of Standards
|Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:||
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Materials Science and experience in computer simulations, multi-scale modeling, and visualization of materials processes.
