Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope , where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

The Beckman Research Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to Join the Laboratory od Dr. Sergio Branciamore .

Branciamore Lab develops advanced computational methods for studying complex biological systems, merging statistical mechanics, dynamical systems, and Bayesian networks. We collaborate on disease research like leukemia, glioblastoma, Alzheimer’s, and sickle cell disease, while also applying our techniques to molecular dynamics simulations of proteins and complexes.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop novel probabilistic network reconstruction techniques that are applicable to dynamical systems and/or spatially resolved systems.
  • Contribute to the creation of software tools that simplify the implementation of sophisticated algorithms and models in extensive biomedical research projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of researchers from computational, clinical, and laboratory disciplines such as computational biology, genomics, systems biology, and more for effective problem-solving.
  • Generate mathematical and evolutionary models to describe disease evolution.
  • Publish groundbreaking findings in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and present them at conferences and seminars.
  • Engage in grant writing activities to secure funding for future projects.
