Updated: about 1 month ago

Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

Under the direct supervision of Dr. Stephen Gruber , the post-doctoral fellow will dedicate efforts to translational research in precision medicine and the molecular epidemiology of cancer.  The Gruber Lab focuses on genetics, precision medicine, and epidemiology of colon cancer and inherited cancer syndromes, including Lynch Syndrome, Li-Fraumeni Syndrome and other forms of inherited susceptibility to cancer. Our lab utilizes statistical modeling to understand the development of colorectal cancers in diverse populations and concentrates on the interface of germline and somatic genomic profiles to improve patient outcomes.

As a successful candidate you will:

  • Curate and annotate clinical data for precision medicine studies.
  • Analyze data use statistical packages (R)
  • Organize, manage, and analyze large epidemiologic datasets.
  • Interpret germline genetic variants and somatic genomic profiles of tumors.
  • Interrogate and identify mutational signatures of cancers.
  • Document patient trajectories and study outcomes.

Your qualifications should include:

  • M.D. or Ph.D.
  • Experience with epidemiologic analyses, including logistic regression and Cox proportional hazards modeling.
  • Solid foundation in human genetics.
