Role Description:
The Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University seek outstanding applicants for an interdisciplinary post-doctoral position on the Bioinspired Therapeutics & Diagnostics Platform in microfluidics and bioengineering, specifically for the development of Organs-on-Chips biomimetic microsystems.
In This Role You Will:
- Develop and lead an interdisciplinary research project aimed at creating microengineered human organ-on-chip models to study normal physiology mimic disease and to explore their potential in drug-discovery applications.
What You’ll Need:
- Ph.D. with an excellent track record of research in a field related to microtechnology or bioengineering
- Interest in biological applications
- Should be open-minded, creative, energetic and bring strong expertise and experimental background in at least one of the fields of microfluidics, microfabrication, bioengineering, or system engineering
Preference Will Be Given to Candidates With:
- A proven ability to design and build novel microfluidic microsystems and employ them for cell biological applications
- Have basic knowledge of molecular cell biology (cell culture, basic molecular biology concepts and techniques) and microscopy techniques is also required
- Background in cell biology or physiology would be a plus, but is not required.
