Postdoctoral Counseling Fellow

Creighton University is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Counseling Fellow. 

 

Responsibilities of this position will be under the direction and supervision of a fully licensed psychologist. This position is a full-time, one-year position.

Will serve a general case load providing individual, and group counseling services to a diverse student body, including student athletes, presenting with mental health concerns. Will also provide crisis assessment and intervention, including on-call phone coverage on a rotating basis, supervision, consultation, and outreach programming, sharing these responsibilities with other staff. Participate in providing group supervision to practicum students in collaboration with the SCS training team. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. This position reports to either the Senior Director of Student Counseling Services or the Director of Clinical Services and Training.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides therapeutic services to students seeking counseling services, including documentation and case management.
  • Provide outreach programming and complete individualized training experiences.
  • Co-provides group supervision to practicum students.
  • Participate in university meetings and/or divisional committees.

Education & Experience:

  • Requires a Ph.D. or PsyD in clinical/counseling psychology.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship.

 

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Provisional License in Psychologist in Nebraska with eligibility to apply for this license prior to employment start date.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of psychotherapy and counseling psychology.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in program development.
  • Supervisory skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize, diagnose problems, and implement appropriate treatment solutions.
  • Ability to make accurate judgments concerning the physical, emotional, and educational welfare of students, faculty, and staff members.
  • Ability to lecture and give presentations.
