Postdoctoral position in Genetics and Pathogenesis of Liver Disease at the laboratory of Silvia Vilarinho, MD, PhD at Yale Liver Center.

The Vilarinho lab at Yale Liver Center is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals who are passionate about advancing the cellular and molecular understanding of liver function in health and disease.

Our laboratory is interested in using human genetics and genomics paired with highly informative cohorts of patients to discover new liver disease genes. Using cell based and mouse models as well as biochemistry we study how a mutant gene causes the liver phenotype. Thus, by uncovering new liver disease genes, we provide a diagnosis leading to new therapeutic options, and we gain new insight into liver biology. For more information, please see: https://www.vilarinholab.org.

Successful candidates should have backgrounds in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics and genomics or other related fields. Individuals with a track record of publications, training in liver biology, mouse models and/or bioinformatics and recent PhD graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. The Liver Center provides a stimulating training environment, as well as many collaborative opportunities.

If you are interested in this position, please send your CV and a statement of why you are interested in the lab to [email protected].
