Job Description

The Kevin P. Granata Biomechanics Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join a dynamic multi-center, interdisciplinary team of researchers to develop a prognostic model of second Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury risk. The study team involves researchers and clinicians as part of the ACL-CARE consortium who are dedicated to improving access to quality care for those who have sustained and ACL injury with the goal of decreasing the risk of a second injury following return to unrestricted physical activity. Specifically, the post-doctoral researcher would learn essential skills in clinic based biomechanical testing and analysis as well as the longitudinal tracking of adolescent patients following ACL reconstruction. The position will involve mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in the Granata Lab, working closely with other researchers on lab and clinic-based biomechanics assessments, collaboration with faculty within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Carilion Clinics, members of the study team at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and collaborators at High Point University. In addition, this position will involve the coordination of a multi-center study that encompasses clinical and biomechanical assessment as well as the review of medical records. The individual in this position will also be expected to assist with grant proposal preparation including the development and submission of a K99/R00 application. In addition, the position will include the publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of research findings at national and international conferences.
