The Dua group in the Physics Department of Virginia Tech invites applications for postdoctoral associate positions in theoretical quantum information, topological condensed matter physics and the physics of learning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in topics of quantum error correction such as self-correction and LDPC codes, topics of quantum many-body dynamics and problems in understanding the physics of learning in artificial systems.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant group of graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty in quantum information theory across multiple departments on campus, including Ed Barnes, Charles (ChunJun) Cao, Arpit Dua, Sophia Economou, Sumeet Khatri, Atul Mantri, Nick Mayhall, Kyungwha Park, Vito Scarola, Jamie Sikora, Tianci Zhou at Virginia Tech and at the Virginia Tech Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering. There will be plenty of opportunities for collaboration with other members of the group and with some of the leading experimental and theory groups around the world.

Candidates should have performed research in Quantum Information Science in their PhD and should obtain the Ph.D. degree before the start date. The position will start in fall 2024 and will be for two years, with a possible extension for a third year.
