Job Description


The candidate is expected to work independently in a molecular virology laboratory on understanding the mechanisms of hepatitis E virus (HEV) replication and pathogenesis. The candidate will join a diverse group of scientists in the Meng Lab to study the underlying molecular mechanisms of hepatitis E virus-associated liver diseases and extrahepatic manifestation of diseases, determine the immunological factors contributing to hepatitis E virus-associated diseases, and dissect the structural and functional relationship of hepatitis E virus genes. The candidate is expected to have good written and oral communication skills.

Required Qualifications

- Ph.D. in virology or related fields.
- Ph.D. must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.


Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experiences in molecular virology and immunology, particularly in the area of viral replication and pathogenesis using animal models.
